NVR · AI search · on-box privacy

Find the clip in seconds.

Video and AI stay on your box.

Live wall, AI Search for people and vehicles, and alerts that open the right clip — on your Axis and ONVIF cameras. Detection runs on your server and on the camera, not in someone else's cloud.

Edge

Axis ACAP records locally, detects locally, and burst-uploads when the WAN comes back. Intermittent sites stop being a problem.

02

Core

Person and vehicle detection, cross-camera tracking, Search, and event marks — on the NVR GPU. Zero per-event cloud calls.

03

Archive

Ask the Archive in sentences. Synopsis layers a shift of motion onto one canvas. Privacy Mesh redacts by default.

On-box capabilities

Everything below runs on your box. Nothing is sent to the cloud per event.

Attribute & descriptive text search

Red coat. White F-150. Backpack, left shoulder. Ask the Archive in plain language across every camera.

HE Cars Engine

License plates and vehicle attributes (make, class, color, direction).

Loitering & perimeter breach

Dwell clocks and virtual fences with schedule-aware thresholds. Breach is a tripwire plus heading, not a blob.

Traffic heat mapping & directional flow

Occupancy heat and heading vectors, computed on the NVR from tracker output. No cloud round-trip.

Crowd density & anomaly control

People-per-sq-m, flow reversal, crush risk. Plaza South is the reference camera in this tenant.

Abandoned / left-behind objects

Bags, crates, packages get a Provenance id the moment they separate from a carrier.

Video synopsis / time-lapse layering

A shift of motion composited onto one canvas so an investigator watches an hour in a minute — without leaving the core.

HE People Engine

Find the same person across cameras. Body and face stay on the box; raw faces optional and redacted by default.

Drawn weapon detection

Pose + object model trained to prefer a drawn firearm over a holstered one or a power tool. Runs at the edge on Axis.

Abnormal behavior analysis

Gait, grouping, sudden sprint, fight prelude — scored against Scene Twin, not a generic cloud model.

Not on the open market

Ten abilities we built because the category is still a pile of motion events.

Causal Chain Engine

HE Video stitches alerts into one incident: bag left → second subject retrieves it → restricted stairwell. Three tickets become one case.

No VMS on the market treats multi-hop causality as a first-class object. They dump a pile of motion events. Causal Chain is a graph.

Intent Vectors

Pose, gait, heading, and velocity become a 5–30s forecast. Neighboring cameras are already looking where the subject will be.

PTZ auto-tour and 'next camera' handoff exist. Forecasting intent — not just tracking — and pre-arming the next sensor does not.

Umbra forensics

Recover a subject from a shadow on the wall, a shop-window reflection, a puddle, a windshield. The body never has to be in frame.

Every detector wants pixels on the person. Umbra is a dedicated reflection/shadow reconstructor sitting beside the detector.

Spoofguard

Adversarial patches, IR-blocking glasses, printed faces, silicone masks — a threat class, not a missed detection.

Labs publish papers. Nobody ships camouflage-and-spoof as a live alarm with a confidence and a clip.

Ask the Archive

“White F-150 that followed the courier from dock to gate Tuesday after 4.” Returns a stitched multi-camera case, not a clip list.

Attribute search is tables. Narrative search that understands following, handing-off, and 'after 4' is new.

Scene Twin

A living baseline of this camera at this weekday and hour across twelve weeks. What is different right now is the alert.

Motion detection is 'different from the last frame.' Scene Twin is 'different from this Tuesday at 14:10 for a season.'

Provenance Ledger

Every bag, crate, phone gets a chain of custody: first seen, every handoff, last known. Timestamped on the core.

Object left-behind is a boolean. Provenance is a forensic ledger you can take to a hearing.

Hear-See fusion

Gunshot, glass, shout, tire screech — on-camera mics triangulate and tag the correct stream in ~200ms. No cloud hop.

Audio analytics products exist as a separate pane. Hear-See is bound to the same tracker and the same case.

Privacy Mesh

Faces redacted in real time. Unmask is a role, a reason, and a reversible crypto envelope — not a blur slider.

Most 'privacy' is a Gaussian blur you cannot undo. Mesh is reversible, auditable, and default-on.

Weatherlock

Rain, fog, snow, and headlight bloom are normalized in the perception stack so models do not silently fail at 2am in a storm.

Vendors shrug and say 'weather.' Weatherlock is a preprocessor with its own health, not a hope.

Axis first. ONVIF for everything already on the wall.

HE Video Edge is an ACAP for Axis. It processes on the camera, records to SD when the WAN dies, and auto-registers to the installer's account from the license key. Other vendors arrive as ONVIF / RTSP into the same core.

  • Installer signs in on a phone, types a license, the camera appears.
  • Store-and-forward vault for intermittent microwave and LTE sites.
  • Search by Last hour, Person, Vehicle, or camera — tap a result, land on the moment.
  • Privacy Mesh on by default. Unmask is a role, a reason, a log.
Pairing

Pairing keys are shown after sign-in, under Edge & licenses. The Axis registers itself.
